Polish publishers launch new horror book editions
Two Polish publishing houses announced the release of new horror titles in the second half of 2026. Prószyński i S‑ka will issue a paperback edition of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s novel *Black House* (originally published in 2001) on 30 July 2026. The volume includes a conversation between King and Straub, a translator’s note by Marek Mastalerz, and is priced at 69.99 zł.
Publishing house IX is set to publish three classic horror works in August 2026: Robert W. Chambers’s *The Maker of Moons* (originally 1896), Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s *The Yellow Wallpaper* (1892), and William Hope Hodgson’s *The Giant Wistaria* (1891). All three are presented in hard‑cover format, translated by Krzysztof Grudnik, and feature new cover designs.
These releases expand the Polish market for translated horror literature, bringing both contemporary and historic titles to new readers.
