Polish railways celebrate 100th anniversary with cultural events

Poland is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Polish State Railways (PKP) with several commemorative events. On September 26, the town of Spała will host a 'Day with Railways' as part of the Year of Polish Railways. The program includes the unveiling of a memorial stone dedicated to President Ignacy Mościcki, the presentation of a jubilee mural, and the debut of a commemorative postage stamp issued in collaboration with Poczta Polska.

In a separate cultural initiative, the 'Train to Culture' project will run during September and October on PKP Intercity routes connecting Warsaw, Poznań, and Berlin. This project, which has expanded to this route as of 2025, offers passengers cultural events during their journey. The current edition commemorates the 35th anniversary of the Berlin-Warsaw partnership and the Polish-German Treaty of Good Neighborliness.
