Poland allocates billions of zlotys to regional environmental and infrastructure projects
The Polish government and EU funds are being directed to a wide range of regional projects. From July 20, the "Czyste Powietrze" programme will ease access to subsidies for home‑energy upgrades, adding new ownership exemptions, a 10 % boost for selected thermomodernisation works and longer payment windows.
In the Wielkopolska region, more than half a billion zlotys (over €110 million) from the European Agricultural, Regional and Social Funds will support rural development, including new village halls, playgrounds and agro‑tourism initiatives. The Mazowieckie regional authority and EU sources will provide 8.6 million zlotys to Legionowo County for road, lighting, sewage and green‑space upgrades, while Legionowo city itself receives over 1 million for park revitalisation.
Substantial heritage restoration funding is also being allocated: nearly €800 thousand for monuments in the Łomża subregion of Podlaskie, and a further €270 million for projects in the Świdnica area of Lower Silesia under the National Reconstruction Plan.
Disaster‑recovery spending totals about €59 million for flood‑damaged water‑service infrastructure in Kłodzko, Wejherowo and Malbork, aiming to rebuild treatment plants, sewers and green‑blue storm‑water systems.
Environmental and sanitation upgrades are a major focus. The Małopolskie region will channel roughly 80 million zlotys to build around 6 000 household sewage treatment plants across 19 gminas, with individual grants ranging from 600 000 to 1.5 million zlotys. In Łódź Voivodeship, up to 8 000 zlotys per household will be granted for new septic‑system installations, while the Świętokrzyskie region receives over 51 million zlotys for hydrological works, including reservoir revitalisation and new recreational facilities.
