Polish regional funds offer up to 100% subsidies for residential energy retrofits

The Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region launched the pilot "Ekologiczna Wieś" program with a 40 million zł budget, allowing housing communities in former state‑farm blocks to receive up to 100 % of eligible costs for deep energy‑saving renovations. The scheme aims to cut primary energy demand by more than 90 % and will accept documentation applications from 3 August to 31 August 2026, with investments carried out by local gminas.

In the Silesian region, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW) opened the "EKO WSPÓLNOTA" call, allocating 5 million zł for grants and unlimited‑allocation loans to support thermal insulation, photovoltaics, heat pumps and other efficiency measures. Communities can obtain grants of up to 66 500 zł (15 % of costs) and total funding up to 250 000 zł per association, with the programme running until 31 August 2026. Both initiatives target energy‑poverty reduction and lower heating and electricity bills for residents.

Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig‑Kloska emphasized that “the best and cheapest energy is the one saved,” highlighting the dual economic and ecological benefits of the retrofits.
