Polish regional governments announce social and cultural award nominations
Regional governments in Poland have opened nominations for annual awards recognizing excellence in social work and culture.
In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, the 20th edition of the ‘Stalowy Anioł’ (Steel Angel) competition is underway. The award honors individuals and teams demonstrating innovation and commitment to social assistance. Nominations can be submitted by government administration, social assistance institutions, NGOs, and religious organizations until September 30, 2026.
In the Opole Voivodeship, the regional government has begun accepting candidates for four cultural awards. These include honors for Culture Animators and Creators, the Museum Event of the Year 2025, ‘Zabytek na Medal’ (Monument for a Medal), and the Karol Miarka Award. The awards recognize achievements in artistic creation and the protection of the culture of Upper Silesia. Most nomination deadlines fall on September 30, though the Karol Miarka Award deadline is September 24.
