Polish regions allocate 310 million zł in development funds, Racibórz excluded

The Silesian Voivodeship board approved a list of 15 projects to receive nearly 310 million zł in funding under the urban revitalisation programme, including about 46 million zł from the state budget. The city of Racibórz was not selected, leaving its 24.75 million zł market‑square revitalisation project unfunded despite earlier formal approval and a request for over 21 million zł from the European Regional Development Fund. Consequently, only ongoing repairs on the market square will continue.

In the neighbouring Małopolskie region, representatives of six gminas – Dobra, Jodłownik, Laskowa, Łukowica, Słopnice and Szczawa – received promises for the construction of household sewage‑treatment plants. The promises, part of a programme covering 25 gminas and worth more than 32 million zł, stem from a regional call under the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy 2023‑2027. The overall scheme aims to fund up to 6 000 individual treatment plants, with a total allocation of 80 million zł for 60 gminas.
