Polish regulator investigates TVP broadcast regarding President Nawrocki

The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has launched an investigation into a program aired on Telewizja Polska (TVP) following viewer complaints. During the program ‘Pytanie dnia’, political scientist Professor Roman Kuźniar referred to President Karol Nawrocki as a ‘parasite’. Kuźniar defended the term as a ‘descriptive definition’ rather than a value judgment.

Viewers filed complaints with KRRiT, alleging that the language used was humiliating and that the host, Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf, failed to provide an adequate response or distance the broadcaster from the offensive remarks. The chairperson of KRRiT has requested that the public broadcaster submit the recording of the broadcast and provide formal explanations regarding the incident.
