Polish Residents Challenge Construction Noise and Unsafe Buildings

Residents living near the railway station in Pszczyna complain about loud night-time construction as a tunnel is built under the tracks on Dworcowa and Męczenników Oświęcimskich streets. They ask for a reduction of night work, while PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) explains that night shifts are required to avoid disrupting train traffic and that the work will be limited to the minimum necessary and finished soon.

In Szczecin, occupants of a multi‑family block on Hoża street report cracked walls, a sloping floor and non‑closing windows, describing a risk of structural collapse. The residents say the city has ignored the problem, have spent hundreds of thousands of złoty on private safety measures, filed a lawsuit against the municipal road and transport authority, and await a court hearing that could lead to an eviction order.
