Polish retailers extend deposit system voucher validity

Major retail chains in Poland are independently extending the validity period of deposit system vouchers for returned bottles and cans, ahead of planned government standardization.

Retailers such as Netto and Stokrotka have increased the validity of deposit coupons from 30 days to 90 days. Kaufland offers a 100-day window, while Dino provides coupons without an expiration date. These changes aim to provide greater flexibility for consumers who may not always align their recycling activities with their shopping trips.

The Ministry of Climate and Environment has announced plans to standardize and extend the validity period of these vouchers nationwide, with analytical work expected to conclude in September. The current minimum validity is typically 30 days.
