Polish school libraries host reading competition and promotional events
At St. Jadwiga Primary School in Rabka Wyżna, the school library concluded the "Wyzwanie Czytelnicze" reading contest for grades 2‑3. Over two months students completed six reading‑related tasks; eight pupils earned first‑place honors, two earned second place, and several received participation recognitions. The award ceremony on 9 June presented diplomas and books, with a sweet gift supplied by the Parents’ Council.
In Staszów, the public library joined the national "Jak nie czytam, jak czytam" initiative, visiting Public Primary School No 1 and Kindergarten No 4. Librarians performed in character costumes and, alongside a plush mascot named Tomik, ran three themed sessions for children aged 5‑8, featuring story‑telling, Kamishibai theatre, and pop‑up books. The activities aimed to foster enthusiasm for reading among the youngest learners.
