Polish schools celebrate 'Narodowe Czytanie' with Mickiewicz's 'Dziady

Schools across Poland participated in the 15th edition of 'Narodowe Czytanie' (National Reading), an initiative organized by the President of Poland since 2012 to promote the country's greatest literary works. This year, the focus was on Adam Mickiewicz's romantic masterpiece, ‘Dziady’.

In Krosno, students from the Nicolaus Copernicus High School engaged in the event through readings at the Public Library and a musical-verbal montage performed in the school gymnasium after inclement weather prevented an outdoor reading. In Świdnica, students at the Second High School presented an atmospheric staging of the second part of ‘Dziady’, utilizing music, acting, and scenography to bring the ritualistic drama to life for their peers.
