Polish schools celebrate National Reading Week with student parades and library activities
On 29 May 2026, Primary School No 12 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki organized a Fairy‑Tale Parade for pupils in grades 1‑4, marking the 25th National Reading Week for Children. The event featured costumed students, a presentation of a petition urging daily reading in schools, readings by local education officials, and a showcase of the municipal children’s library’s programmes.
In Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, kindergarteners from the PSP No 9 preschool took part in the same nationwide reading‑promotion campaign. They listened to the story “Naughty Seed Goes to the Library”, discussed proper library behaviour and the value of reading, and created paper‑cut dog crafts, fostering teamwork and creativity. Both initiatives aimed to encourage reading habits among young children across Poland.
