Polish schools complete major energy efficiency upgrades

Educational institutions in Poland are completing significant energy efficiency upgrades through thermomodernization projects.

In Gniezno, Kindergarten No. 9 ‘Leśne Ludki’ has finished a renovation costing over 3.8 million PLN. The project, supported by 1.4 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan (KPO), included external wall and roof insulation, new windows and doors, and a modernized heating system featuring a heat pump. The facility also added photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, and a new disability-accessible ramp funded by PFRON.

In Siechnice, Primary School No. 1 completed a similar efficiency project with a total cost of approximately 3.42 million PLN. Substantial grant funding of 2.65 million PLN minimized the local municipality's contribution. Future plans for the site include the installation of photovoltaic panels to increase self-sufficiency and further renovation works on older sections of the building to improve learning conditions.
