Polish security chief critically injured after fall in Ljubljana
The head of the Diplomatic Security Bureau for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in critical condition after falling from a third-floor window in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on September 13 at a building adjacent to the Polish diplomatic mission.
According to Polish Ministry spokesman Maciej Wewior, the official was on leave and the fall happened during his private time while attending a social gathering. Reports suggest the official may have been carrying a diplomatic package at the time.
Slovenian police were reportedly unable to enter the diplomatic premises or inspect the scene because the Polish mission did not grant consent, citing diplomatic inviolability. Consequently, Polish authorities have announced they will conduct their own investigation into the circumstances. Some Polish officials, including Deputy Sejm Speaker Krzysztof Bosak, have described the incident as suspicious.
