Dominika Chorosińska sparks controversy after barking in Polish Sejm

During a session of the Polish Sejm on September 4, Law and Justice (PiS) MP Dominika Chorosińska drew widespread criticism for making barking sounds while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was delivering a speech.

Chorosińska defended her actions on social media, stating that barking is the ‘only language’ understood by Donald Tusk and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, referencing a criminal case in Kłodzko involving a former political activist. The incident was condemned by members of the ruling coalition, with Kosiniak-Kamysz describing it as an image of ‘political degradation’.

Within her own party, PiS Vice President Tobiasz Bocheński issued an apology, stating, ‘I can apologize. This should not have happened,’ and noted that political standards have declined. Other PiS figures, such as Przemysław Czarnek, suggested that while the MP's frustration regarding government actions might be understandable, her method of expression was unnecessary.
