Polish senior loses 300,000 zł in 'sick daughter' phone scam

A 70‑year‑old woman from Rzeszów County was deceived by phone scammers who pretended her daughter was gravely ill and required an expensive medication. Believing the urgent story, she handed a stranger a bag containing roughly 300,000 zł. The man was later detained in Lublin in connection with other fraud cases. Police warned the public to avoid sending money to unknown callers who claim to represent medical staff or authorities.
