Polish series “1670” launches third season on Netflix

The third season of the Polish historical‑satirical series “1670” premieres on Netflix on 5 August. The new episodes follow Jan Paweł’s ambition to send a peasant to the Moon, escalating family feuds in the Adamczewski household and the fallout from a fire that destroyed the family’s noble documents. New plotlines introduce a school for peasants, a rivalry with the Turks and a mysterious neighbor Andrzej.

Creator and screenwriter Jakub Rużyłło told journalists at the New Horizons Festival that the season is darker and more expansive than its predecessors, moving between Warsaw, royal courts and other locations. Actors Dobromir Dymecki and others said the cast is “well‑staffed” and highlighted the development of characters such as Bogdan, who receives a dedicated storyline, and Maciej, whose relationship with the blacksmith neighbor evolves dramatically.

The series, produced for Netflix, continues to blend absurdist humor with historical settings, drawing a large Polish audience eager for the next chapter of the Adamczewski saga.
