Polish series 'Ranczo' unveils new season with Daniel Olbrychski and retains original characters
The long‑running Polish comedy‑drama Ranczo is preparing its 11th season, titled Ranczo. Zemsta wiedźm (Ranczo: Revenge of the Witches), slated for an autumn 2026 premiere. Veteran actor Daniel Olbrychski joins the cast as Ignacy Japycz, a new cousin of the Japycz family, and expressed both excitement and a sense of responsibility, likening his nerves to his debut on Andrzej Wajda’s set.
Producers confirmed that the role of Pawel Królikowski’s character Kusy will not be recast or recreated with artificial intelligence after the actor’s death in 2020. The character’s storyline will be addressed through other characters, while new faces such as Karolina Ludwiniak (as Dorota, daughter of Lucy and Kusy) also join the series. Ignacy Japycz will replace the late Stanisław Japycz, previously portrayed by Franciszek Pieczka, with Olbrychski taking over the part.
