Polish shopping centers see turnover rise in August
Polish shopping centers experienced a rise in activity during August, according to data from the Polish Council of Shopping Centers (PROH). Turnover increased by 2.8% year-on-year, while the number of visitors grew by 1%.
The most significant growth occurred in the entertainment sector, which saw a record increase of 42.4%. Bogda Korolczuk, Managing Director of PROH, attributed this surge to seasonal summer activity and major film premieres attracting audiences to mall-based cinemas. Other sectors also saw gains, including services (6.3%), specialized goods (3.7%), and health and beauty (3.4%).
Performance varied by facility size. Very large shopping centers recorded the highest turnover growth at 5.1% and the highest increase in footfall at 1.6%. Large centers saw a 3% turnover increase, while medium-sized centers showed more moderate growth.
