Polish singer Dawid Podsiadło faces fan backlash over AI‑enhanced music video
Polish pop star Dawid Podsiadło released the music video for his single “na błysk” on 3 June. The clip, which has amassed over 176 000 YouTube views, incorporates artificial‑intelligence‑generated imagery in its post‑production, creating surreal scenes such as duplicated dogs, instantly growing trees and disappearing pedestrians.
Fans quickly noticed the AI‑generated effects and criticised the approach, posting comments that described the visual style as “AI slop” and warned that AI could eventually replace singers. In response, Podsiadło issued a statement saying the AI tools were used only as a technical aid by a team of professionals, not as a substitute for artistic work, and emphasized that the video was crafted by director Tadeusz Śliwa, Moon Films and AiVisioLab.
The episode reflects a broader debate in Poland about the growing role of generative AI in art and media, with other creators such as author Olga Tokarczuk and filmmaker Martin Scorsese having recently faced similar discussions.
