Polish soldier’s 3,333‑km bike ride raises funds for grief‑support hotline on Father’s Day

Basia Pawluk, a volunteer soldier of Poland’s Territorial Defence Forces, began a 3,333‑kilometre bicycle tour around the country on 1 August, the National Day of Remembrance of the Warsaw Uprising. The 23‑day ride aims to collect 33,333 zł for the Nagle Sami Foundation’s free telephone support line that assists people grieving the loss of loved ones. The fundraiser coincides with Father’s Day, a time when many Poles honour their fathers, and the effort has been presented as an act of gratitude for life and for those who provide help during hardship.

At the same time, other Polish media marked Father’s Day by highlighting the role of fathers in families, urging appreciation for their daily support and dedication. The holiday was used as a backdrop for both personal reflections and community‑wide celebrations across the country.
