Polish speedway sees record crowds as riders gear up for European Championship
Polish speedway clubs are drawing larger audiences, with Poznań's Golęcin stadium regularly exceeding 5,000 spectators and four matches this season topping that mark. The rise in attendance helped lift the PGE Ekstraliga total to 268,063 fans across 28 events, an average of 9,573 per match, while the Metalkas 2 Ekstraliga recorded 161,414 attendees in 30 games.
Four Polish riders – Paweł Przedpełski, brothers Piotr and Przemysław Pawlicki and Maciej Janowski – have qualified for the European Speedway Championship in Lonigo, Italy. The competition will be streamed by the foreign service FanSeat with English commentary, and viewers can watch the live event for under five euros.
