Polish Speedway Youth Team Takes Lead at Svitavy Mini Cup in Czech Republic

Polish speedway Svitavy Mini Cup Bartosz Bartkowiak youth competition rider crashes

The PRO‑TEC Speedway Mini Cup, a youth series held on the new mini‑track in Svitavy, Czech Republic, featured a Polish delegation from Rybnika. Bartosz Bartkowiak dominated, winning four heats and securing first place in the A final. Other Polish riders placed as follows: Mikołaj Bula (6th), Wojciech Szymura (7th), Filip Mieszała (8th) and Leon Szydło (10th). The event also hosted the Memorial of Erwina Tragatscha, a flat‑track tournament and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the stadium, with participants from the Czech Republic, Austria and eight Polish riders.

The competition saw several serious crashes. Matěj Tůma fell and was unable to continue, Kewin Nycz suffered a knee injury after a crash, and Alan Grupa collided with a safety barrier, requiring ambulance assistance. Despite the incidents, the races concluded after four heats, with occasional three‑ or two‑rider line‑ups due to the attrition.

Overall, the Mini Cup highlighted the skill of young Polish speedway riders while underscoring the risks inherent in the sport.
