Polish sports clubs celebrate major anniversaries

Several Polish sports clubs recently celebrated major milestones with commemorative galas. Skra Częstochowa held a centenary celebration attended by club officials, sponsors, and representatives from the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The event featured speeches by President Krzysztof Kołaczyk and former leader Artur Szymczyk, a historical film, and the introduction of the club’s new anthem, ‘Ogień w nas’.

Meanwhile, Miejski Klub Sportowy Cement-Gryf Chełm marked its 60th anniversary. The celebrations included a flag consecration and a gala at the Chełm Cultural Center. The event honored various athletes for their historical achievements, such as Olympic silver medalist Andrzej Głąb and world champion Dariusz Jabłoński. Numerous awards were presented, including the Silver Badge ‘For Merit to Sport’ from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, as well as various regional honors from the Lublin Voivodeship and the Mayor of Chełm.
