Polish Sports Clubs Secure Licenses for 2026/27 Seasons

Stal Basketball Club obtained a license to compete in the Polish Basketball League (Orlen Basket Liga) for the 2026/2027 season after submitting the required documentation. The club emphasized that meeting licensing criteria does not guarantee full budget coverage and said it continues talks to ensure stable financing. The roster for the upcoming season will feature a largely rebuilt lineup, retaining domestic players Daniel Gołębiowski and Nikodem Czoska and adding foreign players Jaylin Hunter, Tajion Jones, Karl‑Johan Lips and Jared Billups.

Women’s handball team Piłka Ręczna Koszalin, after withdrawing from the ORLEN Superliga, received conditional approval to join the Central Women’s League for 2026/2027. The decision fills the vacancy left by Szczypiorno Kalisz’s wild‑card entry and allows the West Pomeranian region to retain two representatives in the league. The club must still meet remaining formal requirements to keep its place.

Both clubs are working to finalize financial and roster details ahead of the new season.
