Polish stock market sees growth in banking and space tech sectors
The Polish stock market is experiencing significant activity, characterized by rising valuations in the technology and banking sectors. Creotech Instruments, a leader in space technology, has seen its share value surge following upward revisions by analysts. Despite this growth, the company's president has opted to sell a portion of his holdings, a move noted as a common portfolio management strategy.
In the broader market, the banking sector has been a primary driver of the ongoing bull market. Since the market bottom over four years ago, the WIG index has risen approximately 250 percent. Within the WIG20 index, banks have led the gains; mBank shares have increased nearly eightfold, and the WIG-banki sectoral index has improved by nearly 500 percent. PKO BP has reached a historic milestone, with its capitalization exceeding 150 billion PLN for the first time. Analysts suggest that banks may continue to benefit from high interest rates, which support interest margins and dividend payouts.
