Polish students engage in local environmental and biodiversity initiatives

Students in Poland are participating in various local environmental education initiatives aimed at fostering ecological awareness and biodiversity.

In Starków, students from the Budowniczych Szkoły Primary School attended workshops titled ‘Microhabitats – a small, big world’ organized by the Landscape Parks Complex of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. Held at the Nature Education Center in Ląd, the program included field observations and laboratory sessions using microscopes to study microhabitats and local nature.

In Ruda Śląska, the ‘EkoAktywna Kłodnica’ project has established a ‘Wild Garden’—a flower meadow—at the School and Kindergarten Complex No. 2. This initiative, led by the Foundation for the Development of the Kłodnicka School and Local Community, serves as a sanctuary for pollinating insects and an outdoor classroom for students. The project, which runs from June to October 2026, involves students, teachers, and local residents in promoting local environmental care.
