Polish Summer: Birds Seek Water in Heatwave, Ceramic Workshops Launch
During an intense summer heatwave in Poland, forest birds are facing a shortage of water as prolonged high temperatures and lack of rainfall dry up puddles, small ponds, and streams. The scarcity forces birds, especially fledglings learning to feed themselves, to travel longer distances to find water for drinking and bathing, which is essential for cooling their bodies and maintaining feather condition.
At the same time, the Przelewice Gardens in Poland are hosting a two‑session ceramic workshop series called “Ceramic Summer in the Gardens.” The workshops, led by ceramicist Magdalena Seredziuk‑Grąbczewska, will run on selected Mondays and Fridays in July 2026, offering adult participants the chance to create and glaze their own ceramic pieces. The program costs 120 zł and includes materials and firing.
