Polish supply chain grapples with heatwave strain and AI efficiency drive

A recent heatwave in Bronisze has unsettled the local wholesale vegetable market, causing irregular supplies of strawberries, cherries, young potatoes and cauliflower, while sales activity slowed as stallholders reduced operations. Prices have shifted, with red peppers around 12 zł/kg, zucchini below 3 zł/kg, and green beans remaining high at 12‑14 zł/kg. Young potatoes now cost 1.10‑1.66 zł/kg and cucumber prices vary between field‑grown and greenhouse varieties.

At the same time, FM Logistic is promoting artificial‑intelligence tools to improve supply‑chain predictability in Poland. The firm cites a $184 billion annual cost of disruptions and notes that about half of companies lack full visibility of their logistics chains. AI‑driven platforms such as FM Logistic’s Control Tower integrate transport, inventory and carrier data, enabling real‑time monitoring and faster response to demand spikes, exemplified by a sudden need for de‑icing fluid. Deployments of Google AlphaEvolve have boosted order‑picking efficiency by over 10 % and reduced travel distance for operators by more than 15 000 km per year.
