Polish teams claim European football and world model sailing titles

Coach Mateusz Chmielowiec led the University of Rzeszów team from SMS Mielec to win the Academic European Football Championship in Salerno, Italy. After a 3‑3 draw with the German university from Würzburg, Poland prevailed in a penalty shoot‑out 6‑5 to secure the title and a place at next year’s World University Games.

Modelers from the Municipal Cultural Centre in Żywiec achieved a historic haul at the World Championships of Remote‑Controlled Sailing Models in Hungary. Eleven‑year‑old Mateusz Stokłosa captured the junior world title in the trimaran class, while teammate Bohdan Śliwa earned two gold and one silver medals, bringing the Polish delegation home with three golds and one silver overall.
