Polish teens pressured by social‑media beauty trends adopt anti‑ageing and honey skincare

Social‑media filters have created unrealistic beauty standards among Polish children and adolescents, prompting a "Sephora kids" craze where youngsters stock anti‑ageing products such as retinol, acids and intensive peels. Dermatologists warn that young skin typically does not need these treatments and that misuse can cause irritation, burns and barrier damage.

At the same time, a growing interest in natural home‑spa routines is encouraging the use of bee‑derived products—raw honey, propolis and beeswax—as moisturisers and anti‑bacterial agents for skin and hair. These traditional remedies are promoted for their humectant properties, gentle exfoliation and soothing effects, offering an alternative to the chemically intensive cosmetics popular among teens.

Both trends highlight a shift in Polish youth’s approach to personal care, oscillating between high‑tech cosmetic consumption driven by online ideals and a revival of simple, natural skincare practices.
