Polish telecom market relies heavily on small and medium-sized operators
The Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) report for 2025 highlights the outsized role of small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) in the telecom sector. Although SME revenues account for about 12 % of total electronic communications income (≈5.6‑5.8 bn zł in 2023‑2025), they generate 33.7 % of stationary internet revenues and serve 32.2 % of all fixed‑line broadband users. In rural areas, SMEs provide 50.5 % of internet access services and 51.3 % of FTTH deployments, making them the main investors in high‑speed infrastructure outside major agglomerations.
A broader technology and media review for the week of 6‑10 July notes that telecom activity in Poland saw a 9 % year‑on‑year decline in number portability, with Orange Polska gaining 20 000 numbers, Cyfrowy Polsat losing 30 000, and other operators experiencing modest changes. Radio audience shares shifted slightly, with RMF Group at 33 % and Polskie Radio rising to 7.6 %. These trends accompany growing adoption of AI tools across Polish enterprises, as described in parallel industry analyses.
