Polish Territorial Defence units boost flood response and battlefield medical rescue skills

The 4th Warmian‑Masurian Border Defence Brigade organized a nationwide field‑medicine competition in the Warmian‑Masurian region. The event combined theoretical instruction with demanding practical drills, including a MASCAL scenario with mass casualties, and featured cooperation with the police Counter‑Terrorist Unit from Olsztyn. Teams from across Poland competed, with the 17th Opole Territorial Defence Brigade taking first place, followed by the 3rd Subcarpathian Border Defence Brigade and the 19th Nadbużańska Border Defence Brigade.

Separately, soldiers of the 9th Łódź Territorial Defence Brigade conducted intensive flood‑prevention and water‑rescue training near Zalew Jeziorsko. The exercises, held with professional fire‑rescue services, covered first‑aid for victims rescued from water, use of protective gear, boat handling, flood‑barrier construction with sandbags, and night‑field endurance. The training aims to improve the readiness of territorial forces to support civilian authorities during natural‑disaster emergencies in the Łódź region.
