Polish theater scene: Teatr Makata's outdoor show and Teatr Powszechny's new season

Teatr Makata will stage the open‑air spectacle “Apokalipsa” on 15 August 2026 at the Town Market in Wieluń. The performance, described as a monumental production with giant set pieces and special effects, is free to the public and aims to attract families and theatre‑enthusiasts under the night sky.

Meanwhile, Teatr Powszechny in Łódź has outlined its 2026/2027 programme, featuring several premieres and pre‑premieres while continuing to operate on two temporary stages during a major building renovation. Director Ewa Pilawska highlighted the ongoing investment by construction firm Budimex and expressed confidence that the new permanent venue will soon open, ensuring the theatre’s future growth.

Both initiatives reflect a vibrant period for Polish regional theatre, combining large‑scale outdoor events with ambitious season planning amid infrastructure upgrades.
