Poland hosts various major cultural and theatre festivals
Poland is hosting several significant cultural and theatrical events throughout late 2026. The 19th Boska Komedia International Theatre Festival will take place in Kraków from December 3 to 20. Under the theme ‘No pasarán’, the festival features over 30 performances across 13 venues, including the Inferno competition which will award the ‘Boski Komediant’ statuette. The program addresses contemporary social and political crises through works such as ‘Antygona’ and ‘Hamlet’.
Other notable cultural gatherings include the 42nd Warsaw International Film Festival, which showcases a diverse program of premieres and award winners from Cannes and Sundance. In Bydgoszcz, the 25th anniversary of the Prapremier Festival will celebrate theatrical discoveries under the theme ‘Between Others’.
Additionally, the ‘Festiwal Bohaterek’ in Warsaw highlights the role of women in society through exhibitions and debates, while the ‘Aleja Praw Kobiet’ cycle in Poznań features literary meetings with prominent female authors. Other events include the ‘O Złotą Podkowę Pegaza’ monodrama festival in Suwałki and neurobiology-focused poetry discussions at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art.
