Polish theatres launch 2026/2027 seasons with new productions

Several Polish performing arts institutions are launching their 2026/2027 seasons with new productions and leadership.

Opera na Zamku is returning to its main stage with the musical ‘Toto’, directed by Jerzy Jan Połoński. The production, which premieres on September 19, tells the story of an unconventional bird navigating themes of rejection, prejudice, and courage. The director noted that the play serves as a commentary on the ease of succumbing to evil and propaganda.

In Wrocław, the Wrocławski Teatr Lalek is beginning its new season under the artistic direction of Agata Kucińska and literary manager Katarzyna Krajewska. The upcoming program emphasizes creativity and imagination for young audiences, featuring three new musical premieres: ‘Słoń mi na ucho nadepnął’ in December, ‘Nierożec’ in February 2027, and ‘Wystarczy być’ in May 2027.
