Poland sees major infrastructure and utility developments

Poland is seeing various developments in local and national infrastructure and public services. The Central Communication Port (CPK) has launched 29 tenders worth over 14 billion PLN, with plans for an additional 40 billion PLN by year-end to support its aviation and high-speed rail programs.

At the municipal level, several cities are investing in public spaces and connectivity. Ruda Śląska is working to replace concrete with greenery in its main square, while Mogilany is modernizing several roads. Kraków is planning recreational upgrades to Planty Mistrzejowickie, and Świdnica is constructing new community centers and sports facilities.

Environmental and utility management remains a focus. Water utilities are conducting inspections to ensure rainwater is not illegally diverted into sanitary sewers, which can lead to fines of up to 10,000 PLN. Meanwhile, discussions continue regarding waste management fees, with some municipalities like Wojnicz successfully lowering rates through better segregation, while experts warn of potential price hikes due to the lack of extended producer responsibility (ROP) regulations.
