Polish towns host disability sports tournament and forum

On June 18, Mokrzeszów held the third edition of the Football Tournament for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. Organized by the Workshop of Occupational Therapy in Mokrzeszów, teams from Dzierżoniów, Strzegom, Świdnica, Świebodzice and the host side competed. ŚDS Świebozice won the final against ŚDS Świdnica, while the host team placed third. Organisers emphasized the event’s focus on fun, integration and fair‑play rather than results.

In Poręba Wielka, the IV County Forum for Persons with Disabilities took place, opening with a balloon release as a symbolic gesture of hope. The forum, arranged by the association “Kierunek Przyszłość” together with local social‑care institutions, featured artistic programs from numerous homes and centers. The Workshop of Occupational Therapy in Tymbark secured first place in the competition, with teams from Szczyrzyc and Rabie Niżnej following. Awards for “Friend of Persons with Disabilities” were presented to Krystyna Porębska and Renata Paruch.
