Polish towns secure EU grants for school upgrades and heritage site renovations

The city of Suwałki will receive a 236,160 zł grant from EU funds to revitalize the historic Kościuszki Street, refurbish the 19th‑century Gallery of One Picture and create a youth zone, with a three‑day street festival planned for May 2027.

In Owińsk, a 1,730,610 zł investment will modernise the roof and other structural elements of the local palace, with works slated for completion by 30 September 2026.

The public primary school in Siedzów signed a contract for a 5,394,990 zł thermomodernisation project. EU support covers 2,697,495 zł (50 %), with €…60 % from the state budget. The upgrade will overhaul heating, insulate walls and roof, replace windows and doors, install LED lighting and a 31.9 kWp photovoltaic system, aiming for completion by December 2027.

In Suchany, a 1,420,426 zł scheme funded largely by the EU (1,200,733 zł) will remove architectural barriers at the primary school, including an external lift, new therapeutic rooms, accessible sanitary facilities, and related staff training, improving inclusive education.
