Polish towns Żychlin and Lubin promote safety alerts and detector use
In the town of Żychlin, the volunteer fire department OSP Żychlin has urged residents to install certified carbon‑monoxide and smoke detectors, keep batteries checked and follow clear evacuation procedures. The department noted five hospitalisations after alarms triggered timely evacuations, highlighting the life‑saving role of the devices.
Meanwhile, the Lubin municipal authorities are encouraging citizens to subscribe to the SISMS SMS alert service and the BLISKO mobile app, which deliver warnings about hazards, outages and crises. The system currently has more than 13,600 active users, and officials stress the importance of selecting the correct local subscription group to receive relevant messages.
