Polish training ship Dar Młodzieży sails in US 250th Independence Parade

New York hosted a historic sail‑parade to mark the United States’ 250th independence anniversary. About 48 tall ships, U.S. warships and allied vessels, and more than 120 aircraft flown by the Blue Angels moved along the Hudson from the Verrazzano‑Narrows Bridge to the George Washington Bridge, passing landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center. Organisers estimated roughly six million spectators along the 24‑km waterfront.

The Polish three‑masted training frigate Dar Młodzieży, operated by the University of Maritime Studies in Gdynia and crewed by 120 navigation students, represented Poland among the international participants. After a stop in Norfolk, the ship arrived in New York, where its deck was opened to visitors. The fleet review was overseen from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge by U.S. Vice‑President JD Vance, accompanied by senior defence officials and foreign naval delegations. Security was provided by thousands of police, coast‑guard and federal officers. Following the New York segment, Dar Młodzieży will sail to Boston.
