Polish transport firms POLREGIO and Stalexport post record 2026 growth

Rail operator POLREGIO reported that 50.9 million passengers used its services in the first half of 2026, an increase of over 200 000 compared with the same period a year earlier. May saw a record 9.1 million travelers, the best monthly total in a decade, and the second quarter added more than 400 000 passengers. Growth was strongest in the Łódź, West Pomeranian and Warmian‑Masurian regions, and the company launched new regular services such as the Białystok‑Łomża line.

Highway operator Stalexport Autostrady posted operational revenues of over PLN 325 million and fee income of PLN 315.8 million for the same half‑year, up from the previous year despite a slight 1.2 % decline in daily traffic volumes. Ongoing works on the A4 Katowice‑Kraków stretch include resurfacing 15.2 km, drainage upgrades, and the construction of two new service areas at Rudno and Grojec, expected to be completed by October 2026.
