Polish transport operators modernize fleets with new buses
Public transport operators in Poland are undergoing significant fleet modernizations through the acquisition of new vehicles and charging infrastructure.
In Jaworzno, PKM Jaworzno has integrated seven new electric buses into its fleet. This investment, totaling 24.5 million PLN, includes the purchase of charging stations and technical equipment. The project was supported by over 16.9 million PLN from the European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027 Program. Following this addition, electric buses will constitute 56 of the operator's 76 total vehicles.
In the Podkarpackie region, the Związek Gmin Podkarpacka Komunikacja Samochodowa has delivered 15 Golden Dragon electric buses to PKS Rzeszów S.A. The project, valued at over 47 million PLN, was largely funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO). The upgrade includes eight mobile chargers, a technical vehicle, and new charging infrastructure. Notably, eight of the new buses are equipped with defibrillators.
Additionally, PKS Polonus has expanded its regional fleet by adding two ISUZU Grand Toro XL diesel buses. These 41-seat vehicles, which meet Euro 6 emission standards, will serve the route between Nowiny and Warsaw Gdańska.
