Polish travelers increasingly choose off-season vacations for lower costs

Polish travelers are increasingly opting for the ‘shoulder season,’ with a significant rise in bookings for September and October. Industry data indicates that travel during these months can be 20% to 36% cheaper than the summer peak, potentially saving a two-person household between 3,000 and 4,500 PLN.

Popular international destinations for these autumn trips include Turkey, Egypt, and Greece, followed by Spain and Tunisia. There is also notable growth in interest toward the Balkans, specifically Montenegro and Bulgaria. Domestically, Polish tourists are favoring the Baltic Sea and mountain regions, with hotel prices for 3-to-5-star establishments dropping significantly compared to summer rates.

In the Tricity area (Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia), tourism remains strong despite seasonal shifts, with hotel occupancy rates reaching as high as 90-95% during the summer. Trends show a rise in short-term ‘city break’ trips and last-minute bookings.
