Polish travelers increasingly use AI and digital tools for vacation planning

A report by Sky.pl and NielsenIQ titled ‘How Poles Travel?’ reveals a significant shift in how vacation planning is conducted. Travelers are increasingly moving away from traditional travel agency catalogs in favor of digital tools. The internet serves as an inspiration source for 66% of respondents, while social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are used by 38%.

Artificial intelligence is playing an expanding role in the industry. Approximately 17% of respondents use AI for inspiration, a figure that has doubled within a year. Furthermore, 59% of participants use AI-based tools to assist with various stages of travel, such as finding attractions, planning itineraries, or creating activity lists tailored to their interests. This trend is most prominent among individuals under the age of 35, with 60% expressing a desire to use AI assistants during the booking process.

Regarding trip organization, nearly half of respondents arrange international travel independently using search engines and booking apps. This self-organization is particularly high for short trips, with 82% of city breaks being organized by the travelers themselves. For longer vacations of at least five days, the rate of independent organization drops to 54%, while 46% still utilize travel agencies.
