Polish travelers prioritize short, budget‑friendly vacations amid rising overtourism concerns

A Provident survey of Polish residents shows that 63.1% intend to travel abroad in 2026, with the majority favoring trips of up to seven days. Respondents cite cost as the main barrier, allocating most of their holiday budgets from personal savings (38.6%) or a mix of savings and current income (24.3%). Only a small fraction consider credit or loans.

Europe remains the top destination, chosen by 27% of respondents, especially by the 18‑24 age group (40.7%). Domestic options such as the Baltic coast and the mountains also attract attention. Industry analysts note that the concentration of tourists in traditional Mediterranean hotspots is driving overtourism, higher prices, and new climate taxes, prompting travelers to shift dates to early June or September and seek less‑crowded locales.
