Polish U20 Track Events Feature Record 400m Run by Szymon Pilichowski and Broad Regional Participation

At the 3rd Mazovian Nationwide Meeting held on 28 June 2026 at the Warsaw University of Physical Education stadium, Szymon Pilichowski of KM Aktywni Sochaczew set a personal best of 49.79 seconds in the 400 metres, breaking his life record and meeting the qualification standard for the Polish U20 Championships in Zamość. He finished fifth overall, ahead of several established competitors, while teammate Julia Gaik secured two podium places in her events.

In the XXXII Final of the Thursday Athletics Championships, young athletes from Suwałki travelled to the national finals and delivered strong performances across multiple disciplines. Although no Suwałki runner reached the podium, the participants recorded competitive times and distances, confirming the city’s continued presence on the national junior athletics map and highlighting the depth of talent nurtured by local coaches and schools.
