Polish universities mark start of new academic year

Academic institutions in Poland have marked the beginning of the new academic year with various ceremonies. In Gdańsk, the fifth edition of a university parade titled ‘Let science live!’ took place along Długa Street. The event featured 20 academic representations, including students, scientists, and local government officials. A notable development during the festivities was the expansion of the Daniel Fahrenheit University Association, which now includes two additional art colleges alongside the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the University of Gdańsk.

In Warsaw, the Bródnowski University of the Third Age officially inaugurated the 2026/2027 academic year. The ceremony was attended by officials from the Targówek district. Film critic Tomasz Raczek served as the special guest, delivering a lecture on ‘Cinematherapy’ and the use of film as a tool for personal development. The university continues to offer a diverse educational program for seniors in collaboration with the ‘Świt’ Cultural Center.
