Polish universities open extra admission rounds for 2024 intake

The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn completed the first stage of its 2024 recruitment, receiving nearly 18,000 applications. Candidates on the reserve list will be admitted to any places that become vacant, with a confirmation deadline of 29 July. The university announced two additional recruitment periods: one from August to mid‑September for students awaiting exam results, and a second “rescue” round at the end of September for those who missed admission elsewhere.

Politechnika Świętokrzyska in Kielce began an extra recruitment phase on 3 August, allowing applicants to apply for all first‑degree programmes, both technical and economic. Enrollment in the main round rose by about 30 % compared with the previous year, with strong demand for construction, informatics, geodesy, architecture, automation, data engineering and economics. The university highlights generous scholarships, regional grants and guaranteed dormitory places for new students.

Both institutions aim to accommodate the heightened interest in higher education and to provide additional pathways for candidates who were not admitted in the initial rounds.
