Polish utilities roll out ultra‑low‑cost weekend electricity tariffs

Poland’s largest power companies have launched highly discounted weekend electricity rates. Tauron announced a new offer that reduces weekend prices to as low as 7 groszy per kilowatt‑hour and introduced dynamic tariffs with a price‑guarantee, alongside an electric‑vehicle‑charging subscription that will expand to 1,000 chargers by 2035. Grzegorz Lot, president of Tauron Polska Energia, said the measures aim to make the energy transition “social as well as technological.”

Energa Obrót unveiled a “Tanie weekendowanie” scheme that charges only 1 grosz per kWh on weekends and public holidays between 10:00‑16:00, with a monthly service fee of 24.90 zł (19.90 zł with e‑invoice) on a 24‑month contract.

Enea introduced the EneoWeekend product, offering up to a 50 % discount on weekend and holiday rates and a “bonus hour” where electricity costs 1 grosz per kWh. Bartosz Zieliński, vice‑president of Enea Power&Gas Trading, highlighted a two‑year price guarantee and added‑value services such as remote‑read meter replacement.

Separately, the municipality of Kazimierz Biskupi signed a 10 million zł agreement to install nearly 200 photovoltaic systems, 150 energy‑storage units and 100 heat pumps for its residents. The project, funded by the Just Transition Fund, aims to make the gmina the only one in Poland supplied exclusively by green energy, according to wójt Grzegorz Maciejewski.
